دستگاه دی وی ار داهوا مدل DH-XVR5108HS-4KL-I2 از نوع XVR است. به این مفهوم که شما می‌توانید علاوه بر دوربین های مداربسته HDCVI از دوربین‌های مداربسته IP ،AHD ،HDTVI و CVBS نیز در سیستم نظارتی خود استفاده کنید. XVR داهوا در این مدل 8 کاناله است و از 8 دوربین مداربسته HD پشتیبانی می‌کند. کیفیت ضبط دوربین‌های HDCVI در دی وی ار داهوا مدل DH-XVR5108HS-4KL-I2 با کیفیت 8 مگاپیکسل و 25/30 فریم بر ثانیه است. همچنین این دستگاه از 8 دوربین IP با حداکثر رزولوشن 8 مگاپیکسل نیز پشتیبانی می‌کند.

هر یک از دستگاه‌های ضبط با توجه به نوع و مدل آن‌ها از یک یا چند هارد با ظرفیت مشخص استفاده می‌کنند. در XVR داهوا مدل DH-XVR5108HS-4KL-I2 از یک هارد با حداکثر ظرفیت 10 ترابایت پشتیبانی می‌شود. فرمت‌های فشرده سازی برای استفاده بهینه از ظرفیت هارد و پهنای باند بسیار موثر هستند. هر چه این فرمت‌های فشرده سازی بالاتر باشند در هزینه‌های ذخیره سازی صرفه جویی بیشتری می‌شود. این دستگاه از فرمت‌های فشرده‌سازی AI Coding/H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 استفاده می‌کند.
