دستگاه دی وی ار داهوا مدل DH-XVR5116HS-S2 از نوع XVR است. به این مفهوم که شما می‌توانید در دستگاه‌های XVR علاوه بر دوربین‌های مداربسته HDCVI از دوربین‌های مداربسته IP ،AHD ،HDTVI و CVBS نیز در سیستم نظارتی خود استفاده کنید. XVR داهوا در این مدل 16 کاناله است و از 16 دوربین مداربسته HD پشتیبانی می‌کند. کیفیت ضبط در دی وی ار داهوا مدل DH-XVR5116HS-S2 با کیفیت 4 مگاپیکسل و 25/30 فریم بر ثانیه برای دوربین‌های HDCVI است. دستگاه XVR مدل DH-XVR5116HS-S2 از 24 دوربین IP با حداکثر رزولوشن 5 مگاپیکسل نیز پشتیبانی می‌کند.
در XVR داهوا مدل DH-XVR5116HS-S2 می‌توانید از یک هارد با حداکثر ظرفیت 8 ترابایت استفاده کنید. فرمت‌های فشرده سازی برای استفاده بهینه از ظرفیت هارد و پهنای باند بسیار موثر هستند. هر چه این فرمت‌ها بالاتر باشند، صرفه جویی بیشتری در هزینه‌های ذخیره سازی می‌شود. این دستگاه از فرمت‌های فشرده سازی AI Coding/H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 استفاده می‌کند.
